This Physician Salary Survey is based on our own recent nationwide, confidential survey of over 80,000 practicing physicians as well as over 40,000 newly graduated physicians in each specialty listed above. We have meticulously compiled our information obtained from these physicians and averaged our findings with several major physician salary compensation charts. Our survey shown should be considered as a national average throughout the United States. The diversity of doctors surveyed were solo physicians to large multi-specialty practice physicians and also included hospital employed physicians from small towns to large metropolitan areas. Your particular geographic area salaries may be higher or lower based on your own overall cost of living in your region as ours shows only an average. Competition for physicians in your own area may also require you to increase your overall physician salary and compensation package. Compensation of your own physicians should be based on your own need and ability to pay the median in the marketplace. Job seeking candidates will range from board eligible physicians to board certified physicians and each should be given their own consideration. Our physician compensation chart represents the national average of physician salaries and is believed to be as true and accurate a tool as any Physician Salary Survey in the marketplace today and should be used as a reference for information prior to employment.
